Tropicana can accept Financial Aid that has been disbursed to you from your school or your loan company. If you are unsure how much your financial aid covers, how much you are receiving, or when you'll receive financial aid, we can help you understand the financial aid process and assist in directing you to find that information.
Financial Aid disbursement for housing will be sent to you from your school or loan company in the form of a check, or as a deposit to your bank account. The money you receive is for you to use to pay for housing where you would like, as well as other expenses you incur while attending school. If you need to apply for Financial Aid, you can go to UCSB websites to be directly informed on how the process works.

To apply for Financial Aid, you must complete a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). To assist students with filling out the FAFSA, UCSB's Financial Aid Office has created the "7 Easy Steps to the FAFSA" tutorial series.
Here are a few key things to remember when applying for Financial Aid:
• To complete a FAFSA, you and your custodial parent (if applicable) will need a Personal Identification Number (PIN)
• Complete a new FAFSA for each academic year
• Complete the FAFSA before the deadline. If you miss this deadline, you will only be considered for Federal Direct Loans and Pell Grant
• Remember to list UC Santa Barbara's school code (#001320) in the "School Selection" section of the FAFSA
